We’ll be back…
Unfortunately, having full-time employment, educational commitments, union work, and general survival to get on with doesn’t leave an awful lot of time for consistent zine production. Thank you for your support so far. I’m sure we’ll be back with a new issue soon but in the mean time enjoy our first three issues - they’re free!
GUIDELINES
We accept submissions of artwork, poetry, and prose. Each issue’s theme is based on a quote (see above). You may use this as a prompt to create new work, or submit work you already have that touches on the same ideas. If you’re unsure what we’re after, read through our issues 1 & 2 which you can download for free here or you can purchase from our shop. In your email, please include the name you would like to be published under, your pronouns, and a brief author’s bio (100 words max.). Please read through the terms and conditions before submission.
Due to financial constraints, we are currently running the Utopia Project as a digital zine. Once we are more financially self-sustaining, we hope to get our issues in print and in your hands.
Any work that directs hatred at any group (other than at bosses and landlords) will be rejected. Always punch up.
All work should be submitted to editors.utopiaproject@gmail.com.
We are not currently accepting submissions.
POETRY
We are open to works of any style, whether structured or free-verse. You may submit up to five poems of no more than 60 lines per poem. Work should be submitted in PDF format. Please include ‘Poetry submission‘ in the subject line. We are open to submissions of poetry that are not in English but we request that you provide an English translation to go alongside.
ARTWORK
We accept entries of artwork of any medium. Images of work should be submitted in JPEG or PNG format. Your work should be suitable for print, so if it is a photograph of an original piece, ensure that it is of a high enough resolution. Please include ‘Artwork submission’ in the subject line and leave a title for your submitted work and a brief description.
PROSE
We accept both short stories and creative non-fiction. There is a word limit of 2500 words for prose submissions. Work should be submitted in PDF format. Please include ‘Prose submission’ in the subject line. Submissions for prose must be written in English.
